School Email/Domain Issues
Hi everyone,
I’m facing an issue with the domain verification step while applying for the GitHub Student Developer Pack, due to an incorrect academic domain mapping in the GitHub Education system.
I’m a student at Government Polytechnic Bhuj (Gujarat, India).
Our official student email domain is: gpbhuj.ac.in
However, during verification, the GitHub Education system is incorrectly linking this domain to Government Polytechnic College Jammu, which is not correct. Because of this incorrect association, the system expects a different domain (gpbhuj.gujgov.edu.in) which my institution does not use.
To clarify the situation:
The domain gpbhuj.ac.in belongs to Government Polytechnic Bhuj (Gujarat).
The mapping to Government Polytechnic College Jammu is incorrect.
My college does not use or provide student emails under gpbhuj.gujgov.edu.in.
Because of this mismatch, I’m currently unable to proceed with student verification for the GitHub Education Pack.
I have verified with multiple students from my institution, and all of us use the same @gpbhuj.ac.in domain. This appears to be a data-mapping error in the GitHub Education database.
I would like to request correction of the mapping to:
gpbhuj.ac.in → Government Polytechnic Bhuj, Gujarat
If needed, I can ask my college administration or IT department to provide written confirmation or verification that this domain is officially used by our institution.
Any guidance from the community or moderators on how such domain mapping issues are typically handled, or whether any additional steps are required from my side, would be appreciated.
Thank you.
